MCE opens a state-of-the-art pickling workshop
The company MCE Maschinen- und Apparatebau in
Linz, Austria, a subsidiary of MCE AG, is a centre of
competence in the fields of mechanical engineering,
apparatus and plant engineering and machine
assembly. MCE has constructed a new state-of-the-art pickling workshop at their premises in Linz, very close
to theVoest Alpine Site, in cooperation with Avesta
Finishing Chemicals. The goal of this workshop is to
do cleaning and pickling of in-house made stainless
steel equipment, including heat exchangers for
nuclear power stations. MCE will also offer contract
pickling services in Austria together with Böhler
Weldingusing Avesta Finishing Products.

Successful Seminars in the Middle East
Mr Anders Bornmyr from Avesta Finishing Chemicals,
together with the Bohler Welding Group Member
colleagues - Mr Volker Gross from T-Put, Mr
Manfred Hoefer from Bohler Welding Austria and
Mr Issam Chiguer from Soudukay, and members of
Bohler Welding Middle East led by Mr Anders Andersson
- gave training in the essentials of Welding and Stainless
Steel Cleaning in the Petrochemical Industry during one
week in October, to some 500 customers in various
countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman
and the UAE.

Cleaning workshops held in Malmö
Böhler personnel Knut Arne Hundahl, sales manager,
Jan Eigil Flaaten, application manager Avesta Brand
from Norway and from Russia Vadim Sharyshev,
managing director, Dimitry Kravets, segment manager
chemical industry, Sergey Kurlanov, application
manager all brands, Alexander Zhurikhin, area sales
manager in St Petersburg region, Natalya Sharipova,
area sales manager in Ural region, have completed
training sessions at our premises in Malmö.
During the sessions they improved their knowledge
of how to keep stainless steel 100% stainless.

Workshop in Dubai increased cleaning knowledge
Team Böhler in Dubai, with the local MD Mr Anders
Andersson in charge together with local distributors,
participated in a Cleaning Workshop in February to
improve their understanding of how to keep stainless
100% stainless.

The workshop was led by Mr Anders Bornmyr from
Avesta Finishing Chemicals, Sweden.

Maintenance cleaning prolongs the lifetime
of stainless steel
Pulire, The International Trade Exhibition for the
production of professional cleaning technologies, is
being held in Verona, Italy, from the 24th to the 26th
of May. It is the only event in Italy that meets all the
product categories at the highest level, enabling the
perfect coexistence of technology, research, design
and innovation.

Niclas Öjstedt is our new Business Development Manager
We welcome Niclas Öjstedt, who will be responsible as Business
Development Manager for the marketing and sales function at
Avesta Finishing Chemicals. Before joining us, Niclas worked as
global Key Account Manager for Alfa Laval's business with BASF,
Bayer and DOW - three of the world's leading chemical
companies. Niclas has also held important positions at Kemira,
a global chemical company, and at Södra Cell, Europe's largest
producer of market pulp.

With Niclas we further strengthen our marketing forces, allowing
us to expand our business.

We welcome Mirna Castro
We have now employed Mirna Castro to take charge of
QHES issues (quality, health, environment and safety)
in the company. Mirna has just joined us from the
County Administration, where she has worked as a
qualified environmental officer. Among her other
previous jobs, she has been work environment inspector
at the Swedish Work Environment Authority. In industry
she has worked with QHES issues in various sectors:
pharmacy, chemicals, food, electronics, water and sewage
management.

As a serious supplier we always take responsibility to
improve the environmental impact and safety when
working with our products. Quality, health, environment
and safety are central parts of the business and a natural
part of the day-to-day work. With Mirna we further
strengthen our know-how, while simultaneously having
a better opportunity to give advice to customers and
retailers on health, environment and safety matters.

Macit&Macit is our new distributor in Turkey
Macit&Macit will from now on be working as distributor of
Avesta's products for pickling, maintenance and cleaning
of stainless steel products in Turkey.

Macit&Macit was established in 1998 in order to create a
strong supply infrastructure for the automotive industry
and other industrial areas and sectors. The aim is to
become market leader in Car Cleaning Products, Home-
Office Cleaning Products and Industrial Cleaning Products.

The Scandinavian Technical Fair 2010, with a focus on
the areas of Machine tools, Tools, Control, Automation/
Robotics and Joining/Sheet metal working, is being held
from the 19th to the 22th of October in Stockholm, Sweden.

The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to learn more
about our various products, and to discover how we can
work together in the long term. We will be happy to

Avesta Finishing Chemicals will exhibit at the combined
conference and fair Duplex World 2010 in Beaune, France.

High demands in an extremely corrosive
environment
International Corrosion Services' pickling and passivation
treatments were central to ensuring the performance of
the stainless steel on equipment for Western Australia's
new Southern Seawater Desalination Plant. Some 200 tonnes of pipes have been treated with Avesta Finishing Chemicals products.

Australia's biggest pickling bath
ICS, International Corrosion Services Pty Ltd, in Australia has now filled the country's biggest pickling bath with
Avesta Pickling Bath 302. The pickling bath is 13 metres long, 1.5 metres wide and 1.2 metres deep, which means that it can contain large quantities of items.

ICS works with pickling both onshore and offshore, and
they say themselves that they provide the world's best corrosion protection for stainless steel. We can only
agree! In addition, ICS is distributor for our products
in south-western Australia.

Omniweld is a new sales channel in Canada
A fruitful seminar and training sessions about pickling
and cleaning of stainless steel was held in Burlington on
March 30th by Mr Anders Bornmyr from Avesta Finishing
Chemicals for our new sales channel Omniweld in
Canada.

Omniweld have been involved in the production of several
thousands of welding procedures which can be improved
by adding information about how to perform an adequate
post-weld treatment.

This collaboration and workshop has been initiated by
Mr Mark Yaple from Avesta Welding North America,
Mrs Victoria Stamper from Ryerson, the master distributor
in Canada for Avesta Welding, together with Mr Eric
Cormier from Air Liquide Canada and Mr Andy McCartney

Successful Seminars in Russia, March 2010
Seminars about "How to keep stainless 100% stainless"
were held together with Bohler Welding Russia at some
locations as a part of a local marketing strategy to
educate the huge Russian market, initiated by Avesta
Finishing Chemicals together with their MD, Mr Vadim
Sharyshev.

Seminars about pickling and cleaning in Russia
During week 15, 15-18 March, we are holding seminars
about pickling and cleaning of stainless steel for different
sectors of industry in Russia. These workshops are
arranged together with our local sales company.

During the year we will be holding several workshops in various parts of the world to spread information and knowledge about the properties of our products and the good results they achieve in giving stainless steel back its
gloss, feel and surface.

We are also there for the Winter Olympics
in Vancouver
While the Winter Olympics are in progress in Vancouver,
the steel structure at Robson Square has been pickled
with our chemicals by Epic Metals for maximum sheen
and durability. Construction and manufacture by George Third and Son - Steel Fabricators.

Robson Square Signature Celebration Site (February 12
to 28), at the heart of Vancouver's downtown core, will be
a centre for free family entertainment during the games.
During the day and evening, visitors can watch live
performances, watch demonstrations and even meet the
Olympic mascots in person.

Schweissen & Schneiden, India, with many visitors
Thanks for the great interest you showed in our products,
especially RedOne Pickling Spray. Many companies have
already switched to this effective product, and many more
have shown an interest in testing it, since its fantastic
results speak for themselves - with small emissions, the
